Cucumber

cucumber-slicesCucumbers are mainly composed of water (about 95%). Cucumbers help flush out harmful toxins out of your body. The skin of cucumbers are composed of many important minerals like silica. Silica is critical for maintaining healthy bones, cartilage, and connective tissues.

Parsley

Parsley is packed with magnesium, calcium, and potassium that are essential for parsleymaintaining a healthy body. Parsley is also packed with antioxidants like luteolin. Luteolin prevents the oxidations of cells. Parsley also has beta-carotene and vitamin C. Beta-carotene is an antioxidant which helps prevent diabetes, colon cancer, and heart disease.

Red Pepper
Sliced red sweet pepperPepper is not only an excellent source of carotenoids, but it’s also a source of over 30 different members of the carotenoid nutrient family. It contain many phytochemicals which are naturally occurring compounds found in plants. Red peppers are nutrient-dense, and one of the richest sources of vitamins A and C. Just a cup a day can provide more than 100% of your daily needs.

Turmeric

Turmeric is one of the most versatile spices. It has almost a sweet
download (1)and tangy taste. Turmeric contains antioxidants that fight and neutralize cancer causing free radicals. Turmeric can increase detoxification enzymes which help eliminate toxins. Turmeric also helps increase the liver’s ability to decrease LDL (bad) cholesterol. Turmeric also improves circulation, promotes blood formation, and purifies the blood.

Jalapenos

They also have less than a gram each of protein and fat and just 0.91 gram of carbohydrates. Jalapenos are a rich source of vitamin C that helps prevent damage from free radicals.

Lime

The Lime is the sweeter cousin of the lemon. They contain
imagescalcium and folate, two nutrients that are important for post-menopausal women and women of child-bearing age. The limonoid compounds in limes have been shown to prevent cancers of the colon, stomach, and blood. Though the exact mechanism is unknown, scientists have observed that antioxidant limonoids also cause cancer cell death. It is also a natural inhibitor of kidney stones made of crystallized calcium. Go for fresh lime juice squeezed into water, as opposed to commercial limeades, for maximum benefits.

Pink Himalayan Salt
SaltHimmedHimalayan salt is made of the same components as table salt but since the crystal structure is larger than refined salt, this salt has LESS sodium per 1/4 t. serving. It packs a hearty 80+ minerals and elements. Himalayan salts are mineral packed crystals that balance electrolytes and regulate water content both inside and outside of cells. It also helps in preventing muscle cramping, aids in proper metabolism functioning, strengthens bones, lowers blood pressure, and improves circulation.

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are also popular for weight loss. They help you Chia-Seedsfeel full and help with digestion as well. Chia seeds absorb 10 times their weight in water, forming a bulky gel. They contain Omega-3 Fatty Acids that are essential in decreasing heart disease risks and triglycerides and boost brain power. Ingredients
  • 15 Cucumbers
  • 20 pieces Turmeric
  • 15 Limes
  • 4 Handfuls of Parsley
  • 1 pinch Himalayan Pink Salt
  • 2 cups Chia Seeds
  • 2 Jalapenos
  • 15 Peppers (Red or Green)
Instructions
  1. Put Chia in 10 minutes before you drink it. Do not store with Chia seed in juice.
  2. Juice all vegetables and fruits.
  3. Put all juice into large container.
  4. Add in chia seeds.
  5. Add in pink salt.
  6. Mix.
  7. Store and Serve chilled.

  1. Let me simply put it! I love juicing. I juice as much as I can. I fast often! From the intermittent fasting and I just finished a 30 days fasting (of Ramadan because Im muslim) I take my health serious. Into yoga, tai chi and eliminated all inflammatory foods from dairy, wheat and sugar. I am an exercise junky in which I go extreme. HOWEVER! My lil brother is way too heavy! My father is too sick and has so many problems with his joints, eyes. The doctors prescribe him so many meds but with a huge bulging gut and eating all the oily and fat and unhealthy food I see the true source of the problem. I will love to get a juicer for my family. I have recently convinced my little sister to start the juice cleanse and have bought the power grind pro juicer for me and my friends at the campus where we work out and juice but I need one to give to my family so they can join this work because just like you said Drew "we're in this together"

  2. Biggest loser has started, (on my job), so I started the 5 day reset Aug 1, I made it through the first day drinking Not War Green Juice and the Passion juice. After I finish the reset I will start the three day with this juice I have to juice one day at a time because I have a GE juicer. I know if I stick with the juicing not only will it change me physically but also mentally the way I see things around me and the changes I need to make.

  3. I recently put a post on about my juicer breaking down and it is very expensive to replace so I have not been able to juice for the last few weeks. I have noticed a significant difference. I have become sluggish again, I am getting severe menstrual cramps again, I feel more agitated and less happy, I feel congested from the inside and I can feel mody crying out for some fresh green juice.. I believe it is to do with not being able to have my green juice in the morning.
    I have now realized that juicing is very important for me and my health and I can't improve my life without it. I would love to win a Kuvings juicer otherwise I will have to save up foreeeeever to try and purchase a juicer myself 🙁

  4. I love watching your video's. I am 63 and over weight not feeling so good about myself. I would like to try the 3 days belly cleanse. Meat does not set well with my body so I try and eat fish or just vegetables. I think juicing would be a good thing for me. I am a little scared but ready to start. Thank you Drew.

  5. Do you make all the juice for one day in one go, and keep it in the fridge? how many juices do you drink a day? and can I do this cleanse while breastfeeding? Or maybe halfdayfasts are better then?

  6. Oh boy, do I need guidance! I'm only 54, but was recently diagnosed with Subclavian Steal Syndrome caused by stenosis. I've refused surgery to place a stent at this time because I really want to try to reverse, or at least stall the progress of, this disease via food and natural supplementation first. I've been following your videos for more than a year now, and have been juicing every morning. I'm still not having a lot of luck with weight loss or with lowering my cholesterol, so I feel like I'm missing something or need to fine tune what I'm doing. Perhaps a new juicer would give me an added boost! LOL I appreciate what you're doing, Drew. This latest Saturday Strategy is very good and I'll be giving it a try. Thanks!

  8. Awesome Juice Recipe Drew! Cannot wait to try this for my belly fat, as nothing has worked in the past! Alot of my belly fat comes from the pills I take for a disease!   11. Donna,I was in the same boat as my liver and gallbladder were so congested and backed up that it makes eating meat or healthy fats nearly impossible. Juicing is great because even though fibrous fruits and veggies help clean and detoxify the body…too much can either leave you dangerously constipated or running for the border. Juicing removes fiber helping you get the much needed nutrition you need without stressing out your already stressed digestive system. Still need plenty of fibrous and liver supporting veggies in your diet and lightly cooking them in coconut oil or ghee made them easier for me to digest and absorb nutrients. Eating mix green salads with radishes were also helpful as well as poaching eggs. In the beginning even radishes were a challenge to eat but that was an indication to how backed up I was and over time it became easier as my digestion became stronger. FYI….adding turmeric,ginger, and cumin to meat dishes makes them easier to digest as well in the future when your body feels up to it.

  12. Drew, thank you for all your awesome juice recipes. My wife has RA and with chiropractor adjustments, healthy eating and now introducing juicing. She has been able to stop taking her medicine and no pain. She is learning to like more vegetable juices as for a while she only would do fruit juices with a little bit of greens. Now she is drinking and trying every juice I make, which a lot of vegetables and very little fruit (Granny Smith apples and lemons, basically). I love juicing and feel so much better when I replace at least one meal a day with juice.

Love your work on FitLife and I am totally unbiased even though I am a native New Yorker ;O) I had a wonderful week…carbs and I are restructuring our relationship with good results and pickled ginger is our new companion during lunch and dinner. Mom is depending less and less on baking soda in the evenings when I remind her to eat it before meals.

  14. Roxana Saez thank you. I just started using coconut oil and I love it. Poached eggs are another food I eat. I do like salads and I did buy some turmeric and I am going to try to make turmeric tea, I heard it helps with joint pain. I have to work and I am on my feet all day and I seem to be sluggish all the time. I am so ready to try juicing. I have been watching a lot of the video's trying to understand how it works.     Sounds like a great recipe. I just started juicing turmeric a couple of weeks ago when you mentioned it for alkalizing. Wow! This stuff rocks. My skin and hair have never felt better, not to mention my digestion. You mention 20 pieces here. How big is the turmeric you're getting? I've found it here in France around 3-4 inches long and probably an inch around.

You guys are awesome, all the things that u were doing were juste inspiring a thousand of people in the whole world, I'm from Morocco living in Houston TX, juicing has inspired me but also my family in morocco who start juicing two years ago, It feels amazing because my parents are doing it, I love them so much that I want them to be part of my life as long as possible, and juicing is a way to keep them healthy and away from all kinda unhealthy stuff but also habits. Donna Ernest Harvey I don't work on my feet all day but I do walk long distances and I like to put a pillow lengthwise under my legs to support my calves and knees and get the circulation of fluid back up to my heart. Grandma was a nurse and she made sure to elevate her legs while putting on her support hose. I like to put turmeric in my morning coffee (1/8 a tsp. and I also put cinnamon…I see results!), rice and meat dishes. It's an acquired taste so hiding it in lean ground beef or chicken tacos is helpful for others.

I had my gallbladder removed in 2009 and not really doing any research myself and just taking the Doc's word for it, I've been left with a much slower digestion, low energy, irritability, MAJOR knee pain, and a whole mixed bag of other ailments. When I called to discuss my symptoms post surgery, I was told to see a Gastroenterologist. Dismissed! I passed on that and found you. I have learned quite a bit from following you on FB and watching these SS's and I am able to understand why I feel the way I do and how to make some life changes for the better. I'm only in my 40's and feel way older than that…not a good thing, but I'm going to turn that around! I really appreciate all that you share and what I like most is that you breakdown the uses for each item you incorporate in the smoothies/juices. It's easy to say buy this and juice it, but knowing the benefits of each and every item being selected is a huge bonus for most of us that are new or just not as armed with your knowledge/experience.   19. Hi, Drew, I have almost everything this recipe calls for in my fridge already thanks in part to this week's CSA box! I already had chia seed, limes, tumeric, and pink himalayan sea salt. So I'm ready once I get some parsley! I bought a very basic juicer about a year ago, and I'm ready for something a little better. The one I have still works fine and I could definitely give it to a friend. My question, though, is the same as someone else's, how long does this juice keep if you make it at one time? I've read that masticating juicers preserve nutrients better, but mine is a centrifugal juicer and that juice should be consumed as soon as possible. My hubby and I are preparing to do one of your juice detoxes, so I want to be sure I have all my info right. I've slipped off my program a little this summer and need to re-energize. Thanks for constantly bringing new info to us and being such an inspiration!

  21. I've just signed up last week. I used to juice about 12 yrs. ago. Juicer broke. Later, my husband got cancer and lived 5 yrs. since then, I used to walk about 3-5 Miles a day, and lost around 50 lbs. in a year. Had some falls, broke collar bone, knee popping out on me, sciatic nerve all the time. Have fibromyalgia, arthritis, sluggish, no energy. Having abdominal pains, bloating, gas, etc. falling apart at age 59. Gonna do the 3-day fast. Thanks for your help and advice. It's been long overdo.

  22. I'm looking forward to doing this cleanse and it has come at a perfect time for me, but I have a couple questions; Can some sort of fruit be added to sweeten the drink up? Do I drink the juice at particular times or just when I get hungry? I have a Ninja Blender, so should I add coconut water and / or just water to thin the juice out? Oh, and if I can't find some of these ingredients like fresh turmeric or Himalayan salt, can I substitute something else for those ingredients? Thank you!

She stated I'd get emails confirming what to do next and an invite to the Facebook community. I never received anything and I've emailed a couple times and received no response. I gave up, but I still watch your videos. Since then my old juicer has broken, but I saw your making one that will be affordable.   24. Thank you for this recipe Drew… looks delicious. I saved it in hope I will be able to do it one day.

    I was victim of a violent assault few years ago and it seems that it put my body in some kind of a shock… and I put on more than 45 pounds, which is waaayyyyyy to heavy on my tiny frame and my not quite 5' tall. Also, my adrenals are really down the drain — if I can say. Eventhough my food intake is majorly veggies and greens, it seems that it is not enough to fill back my energy bank account. Chronic fatigue slow me down so I think that the boost of juices will do marvels for me.

    After a lifetime of being a survivor and kind of a little warrior :), I want deeply to regain my health, to loose all that weight that bring me huge pains that stop me from working and living a normal life. More, I want also to share my future experience in juicing with others around me and to show them that it's never too late to crank back the time clock and to bring back a more healthy, youthful and strong body… and mind. It is my great desire to spread the word and to show that I — and they — can do it.

    So, I need and want desperately to go juicing and to do a juice fast… I hope I will be lucky, for once in my life, and be able to win this little beauty to help me get my life back way more quickly.

  25. I would like to win the juicer. I have a very inexpensive one that works, but you need to consume the juice right away, so I can't make up batches for the day. All the prep and cleaning the machine deters me from juicing more often. I love the way the juice makes me feel, love the taste and I have turned many family and friends on to the juicing lifestyle.   28. I just wanted to take a second to thank you for your videos! I was recently diagnosed with severe Crohn's Disease after 8 months, several trips to the ER and the removal of my gall bladder. I have a severe inflammation blockage in my intestine so I started juicing in order to stay out of the hospital. Often I am unable to eat or drink for days and become very dehydrated and weak….. so once I am able to keep down liquids I juice!!!!! It has kept me out of the hospital several times. Your videos have taught me a lot about the benefits of juicing different fruits & veggies. And even better I have been able to get my husband (who has an incurable form of blood cancer) to drink the juices too! It's amazing how many fruits & veggies I can get him to drink that he normally wouldn't eat!!! Love it!!! Thanks again!

  29. Hi, Drew i been watching your videos for three years and also tired many of your juice recipes. Also, your inspiration inspired me to help a lot of people around me who struggled with over weight. I helped few of my friends they lost weight and more healthier then ever. I helped my mother who been diabetic patient for years helped control her blood level, blood pressure . Also, she had diagnose for Hepatitis C going through treatment. Unfortunately our juicer broken down and we can't juice anymore. especially my mother going through this Hepatitis C treatment does need juicer now very important . At moment we can't afford to buy another one yet. I hope you will help thank you

  31. Add 1/2 handful for each juice you make hazel. You can do either: juice it all at once and drink it throughout the day or simply juice one recipe at a time 4-6x/day for the whole day. Depending on how much time you have

  32. Hi Drew. Enjoying the videos. i have been on a journey at least 2 years. I weighed 320 pounds at one time. I had a bout with aspartame years ago and finally found out I was allergic to it. It gave me headaches. I stopped using it but my taste and smell changed. So the only thing that tasted good at that time was soda. That combined with inactivity just packed on the weight. I decided to cut out the sugar drinks about 2 years ago. This helped me drop to 276 lbs. In 2012 an encourager came into my life and woke me up to greater possibilities. January 2013, I started walking around my block. The first day was hard to get out the front door. I made it around the block (about 2 football fields long)! The next day then got up and went out the door again. I felt good just before I turned for home and extended the distance. I am now up to 5.5 miles in about a 1 1/2 hours. The more I walked the better I wanted to eat. I have been eating more fruits and vegetables. I feel heather and more energetic. I have dropped to 230 lbs. My waist was size 50 January 2012 and 2X was my shirt size. at the end of that March new pants were needed because I had dropped to 44 in Now the sizes I wear are; pants 38; and large shirts. Now I just seem stuck in a holding pattern. A nutritionist friend of mine turned me onto Drew. I am getting excited to change things up again. I want to try this 3 day cleanse. I just don't have a juicer. I have the use a Vitamix blender. Can the 3 day cleanse juice be made in it? I too am a Graphic Designer. I am proud of Carol. You Rock!   33. I am 67 years young…….mentally that is. I receive your emails, listened to some of your videos and always, always have good intentions of trying your system out. I have hypo-thyroidism and 7-8 months out of the year I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder ( SAD ) which means the the two health issues together are a double-whammy. Do you believe that juicing would help both of my health issues? Please tell me it would as this might be the greatest motivator to get me start juicing. Thank you Drew.

  35. I have been promising myself to start juicing but it's not the same without a good juicer. I've tried using my blender but it just doesn't cut it. I need to loose at least 30 lbs and would love to do this by juicing.

  36. I love the vidoes but only wish I had a juicer AND an apartment to put it in. My housing situation went terribly wrong so I'm basically bouncing from place to place with my daughter. Such a stressful time and I feel it all just landing on my mid-section. I also take thyroid meds for life and that really has my off balance. I know that if I can juice, it would really help me get rid of the brain fog and other issues. I am glad to know that juicing is the better option to medications.

  37. First of all congrats to Carol. I am 68 years old and terribly overweight (5'3/235 lbs) and in horrible health because cannot afford to eat right. Husband had kidney transplant, diabetes, heart disease and my daughter is spina bifida and I spend so much time on them hat I just eat junk food when time allows.   38. Carol, you are such an inspiration and look amazing! I remember meeting you when I met Drew for the first time, we went to breakfast and then to the Farmers Market for a juice. We had a great time! I am almost at the 100 lbs loss mark and your story motivates me to get there. I just got back from a trip to Ontario, Canada visiting relatives who have been following my transformation and began juicing too while I blogged and Facebooked about wellness and juicing.   40. Hello Drew! I've been following your blog. I love fruits and vegetables and actually prefer them raw and juiced. I have to lose 50 to 70 pounds (doctor's orders) but have not gotten past 180 in the past year (I'm 5'2" tall)!!! I am an active senior (67) or at least I was until the beginning of this year when I took a part-time desk job and began sitting more than 12 hrs a day….then inflammation set in! Yowza!!! I had difficulty riding my bike, walking and playing tennis all of which I had been doing on a daily basis!!! Now I make myself walk (albeit slowly) at least one to three miles three times a week but my body/joints still "annoy" me! I refuse to let "arthur" take over my body so I want to go back to what I know has worked for me in the past….juicing! Only I don't own a juicer….yet!
    Is using powdered Tumeric ok instead of the root? If so how much would be needed to replace the 20 pieces needed in the recipe for melting belly fat?

  41. I love watching your videos because I need to lose some weight. But I gets a bit discourage when I see the ingredients. Most of the time I can't find some of them. As in this one today. In my country I can't find turmeric. Only in powder. And the chia seeds I look for them and they don't even know what they is here. And pink salt is not to be found in my country. And it saddens me because this is just the recipe I need to lose belly fat. Also my juicer is not the adequate one. I really need to get this weight off it's disgusting and it's bothering me. Please help.

  44. Just want to clarify please. Juicing does not remove ALL fiber – the good fiber remains, 🙂 Please also know green cleanses. You can search on vegetable benefits and see a chart of the benefits by color. 🙂

  46. I have been waiting. You know, that kind of waiting you do because you just haven't committed to yourself to change what you want to be different. You make excuses, you keep waiting for the right time, the right circumstances, the right finances, the right group to help make a change with you because you feel you will be more successful.
    I used to juice daily about five years ago when I was much thinner. Each time my VERY, old original Green Star juicer would need a part replaced, I would juice less and less until eventually (unconsciously) I stopped. Then, occasionally I would go to the local nutrition store to buy a juice. That's when I would be reminded of why years ago I got a juicer in the first place; because economically "occasionally" is all that could be afforded.
    Today I checked my email and watched your video, "#1 Weight Loss Tonic – 3 Day Juice Cleanse Recipe." It awakened my consciousness to the fact that NOW is the right time, the right circumstances. Who needs a band wagon when there is "Juice with Drew" website with blogs and episodes? And excuses; we know all know they are useless; they don't bring you closer you any goal. Today I told myself, "At age 61, each day I wait is one more step backwards further away from what I want and health wise, need." As for finances that are low, make it a priority to save for what you want. UNLESS………….

I have been juicing for 78 days, before I started I was losing the will to live in my disease riddled body, the main culprit being arthritis…I had my first hip replacement 4 years ago at the age of 41 and my second replacement 2 years ago! I am a faddy person, I have tried all sorts to get motivated, make me feel better and help me get off the medication that I have been taking for 20 years, including morphine! A friend suggested Juicing with Drew…I have lost 1stone and 12 lbs since day one, I have stopped taking morphine and reduced my anti inflammatories! I can walk further than I have for years and on Monday I am off to a theme park for the first time in many years with my two girls and my husband!   51. I've been watching Drew for maybe a month on youtube. My wife recently said she wanted to dry a cleanse because we ate really heavy last week. Then I found this gem…I can't wait to try it. I'm the type of person who doesn't eat terrible, but certainly doesn't eat great. Been searching for a way to get my body in sync with my mind and dreams.   55. Yes, I have done this recipe with some apple, and it was great. In terms of frequency, I personally drink a juice around normal meal time, and be sure to drink lots of water in between. The juice replaces food, not water 😉 And you can order turmeric online, or just omit it. If you replace the salt, you should use sea salt. Good luck, it changed my life!

  57. Looking great Rich! I also changed my life after meeting Drew. I lost about 45lbs, and my dad followed suit with a weight loss of about 35. It's very inspiring to hear about your progress and your quest with health. It really does start with baby steps. If you don't have a juicer, keep commenting here and you might win one. Otherwise, smoothies are a great way to get those incredible, life changing vitamins and minerals back into our diet. BTW me and my dad had similar struggles with sugary sodas and aspartame for me. Drinking lemon water really helped me fall in love with water, as funny as that sounds. My advice to anyone on their quest is to find a way to really love veggies and fruits. They give us life!   59. Definitely talk to your doctor, but we believe there is no better concentration of vitamins or minerals than veggie juice! And vitamins and minerals can help the body do magical things.

  60. Donde vives, Nola? Try not to focus too much on the details, if you can't find the ingredients. The important thing about juicing is the vitamins and minerals. Feel free to start with a basic recipe of 1. Dark greens (kale, spinach etc) and some 2. apple or carrot. If you can add some juice like that to your diet, every day, you will begin to feel different. You'll have better sleep, you'll feel happier, and get sick or depressed less often. That's when the transformation takes place. On the inside. The realization that vitamins and minerals are the true key to happiness and health. You wont desire other foods as much, and the weight will drop as a side effect. Buena Suerte!

  62. Love you Drew! and Mae is awesome as well! I have juiced on and off but really need to get serious and stop eating the junk and have more juices instead. Both my daughters have health issues my oldest who is 25 was diagnosed with IBS and is always sick and my youngest has ADD along with stomach issues, ezyema and is addicted to sugar, caffine and ADD meds. They don't live home anymore so it's very hard for me to watch them destroying their health. My youngest got a cheap juicer from her boyfriend and occasionally will use it. But it sure would be nice if my girls could stop their medical problems now instead of having them progress and turn into much bigger things.   63. I live in Honduras. In the city of La Ceiba. And it's really difficult finding lots if the ingredients here. But if I can omit some of them and use other vegetables instead then that's great and if I can include apples that's even better. My juicer is not much good anymore and I have to use a blender at times. But I am not giving up my health is worth more than anything. Thanks for your help.

I am gonna have to try this recipe. ..love your videos..i am about to do another 30 day juice fast. .I had great success last year until I hurt my shoulder been dealing with this for a year now where I have been on 5 rounds of steroids and shots until I had to have sugery and hadn't been able to cut up my vegetables and put back on 30 pounds…so tryin to get back to juicing to help with the pain ……your video s are inspiring thanks!

I really want to try this….I have had a very unpredictable digestive system all my life…mostly diarrhea, sometimes proceeded by constipation, this is no fun….This has been the story of my life..docs just say, "oh, you probably have IBS" but they have no solution….other than more prescriptions…which I try to avoid….I also have fibro, which affects all of my connective tissues…therefore, pain is my everyday life…I am within 10 lbs of my ideal weight, so weight loss is not my issue anymore….I do not have an appetite really, I remember to eat when I start feeling fuzzy….I know this is not good…. My main goal is to be healthy…I am 55, my sister is 60 and has severe dementia….I always ate fairly healthy, but not my sis, she has always been 50-100 lbs overweight….pre dementia….now she is finally at her ideal weight and has no idea, how sad…This runs in my family…I want to make sure and be healthy so I don't get it….
