How You Can Love Better And Create Deeper Relationships – Mindset Monday

I want to talk to you about something that has made a positive impact in my relationships… something that I think could really benefit yours as well.

Have you ever been in a relationship (of any kind) and no matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to get on the same page as the person you’re trying to connect with?

Maybe it’s at work, or maybe this has happened in your personal life.

Gary Chapman wrote a great book called The Five Love Languages, which explains why this happens and how we can learn to speak and act in a way that helps us better connect with the people around us.

This can be so helpful. I know it has been for me in my life and for many others that I have spoken to.

Human connection is something we all want to be a part of – but the quality of those connections can be lost if we aren’t able to communicate in the right way.

Every person that comes in for a job with Fitlife goes through a screening process and it’s more than just  their skills that we are looking for. We have everyone take the love language test as part of our process and the reason for this is simple…

We all speak a different love language.

Knowing what each person’s love language is helps us to better communicate, understand and support one another. Ultimately, at Fitlife this helps everyone on the team feel loved, appreciated and keeps us moving forward in our mission to transform lives and change the world.

The same goes for all types of relationships and this is a tool that I use with everyone I meet.

The 5 Love Languages

  • words of affirmation
  • quality time
  • receiving gifts
  • acts of service
  • physical touch

Think about this… when was the last time that you truly felt loved? How did that person show you this, or communicate this? Was it through their words? Their actions? Did they come home with a dozen roses or a container of Organifi? (that would make me feel loved, even if my love  language happens to be physical touch!)

It’s important to understand what other people’s love languages is, my friend. It makes connecting with your loved ones and the people in your life that much easier. By  speaking to them with their unique love language every time you see them, you create a closer bond.

Something to consider – we typically show love the way we receive love. And while this is great for us and we feel like we are being such a great partner, parent or friend, if the person on the other end speaks a completely different love language than us, this may not translate in the way we intend it to.

Clear and open communication is a vital part of any relationship, yet it’s something that many of us can be much better at for deeper, more soul-filled connections in our life.

So head over and take the free test and comment below. And share it with others in your life as well. Get to know how you can show your love in a way that makes those around you feel special. We all deserve to experience the highest love possible and when we know how to do that for others, it not only makes them feel loved, but it helps us vibrate higher too.

I want to hear from you. What is your love language?

Remember, we’re in this together!
