Are you happy? Are you living the life of your dreams? Do you love your job? Do you feel healthy? Are you proud of yourself?
If not, then it’s probably time for you to take a good look at your habits and the way you treat yourself.
Not so long ago, I was someone who was going through life with a lot of ideas and dreams, a lot of knowledge as well. But I got caught up in life… I was too lazy, too comfortable, too fearful and I had a complete lack of self-esteem. Life was good, my job was not bad at all, I had a girlfriend who loved me like nobody had ever done before.
But I wasn’t able to enjoy any of it. Instead, I spent my free time thinking about what I should be doing… and ended up doing nothing.
This and lots of other things resulted in severe problems with anxiety. Of course, everything in life happens for a reason and today, I am profoundly grateful for my experience.
Anxiety is something that is very difficult to explain to someone who hasn’t truly experienced it. It’s a sensation that makes you feel powerless, desperate and completely out of control. Fortunately, I made the decision to understand anxiety and how I could help myself using natural remedies.
This led me to the understanding that I had neglected myself in so many ways over the past several years. I retired from professional volleyball in 2008. I went from exercising my body between 4-6 hours each day to 0 hours each month. I did the occasional run here and there, but not any more than that.
My body coped as best it could with that drastic change for 6 years, until it began to give me some clear signals that this new lifestyle was not supporting me fully. My dad had died of a heart attack in 2012 and since anxiety was a contributing factor, it was the perfect wake-up call for me.
Everything happens for a reason.
The more I researched about anxiety, the more I found just how much I was suffering due to neglecting my body – no exercise, no control over my food intake, a lack of hydration and, on top of that, mental contamination by letting general negativity take over in my head (the news, alternative news, the people around me, etc.). I was in a downward spiral and the only person that could change this pattern was ME.
I started to reduce and eliminate certain types of food and began to drink more water. I went to therapy to find the root cause of everything and, slowly, I started to recover.
That’s when I found Fitlife.tv and started to implement many of the tips they share.
I started to juice, to eat more organic foods and, little by little, I started to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
I’ve always wanted to be a coach and when Fitlife offered me the opportunity to become one of their first coaches, I jumped right in. To become a coach, I had to go through their 90 day transformation program. This was what made my total body transformation possible. In this program, I was given the tools to implement into my life along with having the support of a personal coach and amazing community of people going through similar struggles. There was no judgement at all, just an immense amount of love.
This particular program is awesome because it takes you by the hand and shows you how to feed the 3 basic needs that anyone needs to be healthy and happy: exercise, good nutrition and self-love. It’s been a huge catalyst in my own personal transformation to free myself from my anxiety disorder, but these tools are also applicable for anybody who feels unhappy about their own life and their current situation.
It starts with a basic detoxification, teaching the principles of juicing, combined with some mindset tips and tricks and some fitness guidelines. In the process, I found that through taking care of my body with good nutrition and taking the right supplements (in my case magnesium was extremely important), I was able to regain the energy and mental clarity that I’d previously lost along the way. And the great part is that this is possible for anyone who is ready and willing to commit to the process of change.
More recently I’ve been able to do some intense exercise without getting anxiety, which has taken my health to the next level. I’m finally back in a positive routine again and it feels great. I now have the knowledge, strength, courage and confidence to keep myself going on this path for the rest of my life.
Though this is my personal story, I’m sure that many of you can relate. Maybe not directly with the anxiety, but for many, feeling stuck and giving up the personal responsibility of their own lives to someone else is an easy trap to fall into (whether it be your boss, spouse, kids). This is an extremely dangerous tendency, because when other people are conditioning your life, it means that your happiness is in their hands, when in reality, YOU hold the key to your own health and happiness.
Now is the time to stand up, take back your life and make sure you treat yourself how you deserve – with a lot of love. You can feel energetic all day long, you can feel creative, powerful, confident and capable of handling any situation. And most of all, you can open up a space in your life in which you allow the universe to show you the way to become a better version of yourself, not just someone your mother can be proud of, but someone that you yourself can be proud of.
You have to believe that’s it’s possible and commit to the process of change. Our source energy thrives when we allow ourselves to be unleashed from any mental boundaries.
Now, release yourself and become the person that you were meant to be.
