“The more you trust your intuition, the more empowered you become, the stronger you become and the happier you become.” – Gisele Bundchen

Normally I don’t run to former supermodels for spiritual wisdom, but I have to admit that this phrase from Gisele sums up my personal experience.

As a globetrotting traveler full of wanderlust, I had a huge learning curve ahead of me when I began my nomadic journey over 7 years ago. My whole life I’ve been the type of person who worries about everything. What if something goes wrong? I thought about everything. I carefully planned my trips, thinking about my next destinations. Yet, I was still worried all the time.

Not only that, but many of my decisions didn’t feel good or turn out well. Why? Because I was making those decisions based on logic, rational arguments, other people’s advice, society’s expectations and everything else EXCEPT for my very own intuition.

With time, I slowly learned to relax more. As I relaxed more, I began to live more with the flow and started tapping into my intuition. It was scary at first, but I started listening to my heart and following my intuitive guidance. Everything started to feel better and come easier. I’ve felt happier, healthier, more empowered and more free.

Listening to my intuition has transformed my life and today I can’t see any other way to live.

Your intuition is that subtle little feeling, that tiny voice that you can’t necessarily explain, but you know is right. It is not always rational, it is not always in alignment with the suggestion of society and it is not based on the advice of books or other people. It can go against your best logic, yet you know it is right.

Your intuition can also be referred to as your inner voice, your heart’s desire, your heart’s message, your instinct, your gut feeling, your spiritual guide, a message from your inner self, your inner guide, a message from your higher self, or a message from your spirit.

When you are guided by your intuition, everything just feels right. It feels all natural, in alignment and you are in a follow. Getting messages from and following your intuition feels warm and cozy. There is no tension or resistance.

On the other hand, when you are not following your intuition, not in alignment with your intuition, or even resisting your intuition, everything feels tense. There is a lack of flow, lack of alignment and instead, you experience nervousness, tightness in your body and emotional tension.

Your intuition comes from a place of love and abundance and is related to positive emotions, whereas messages and actions that are not in alignment with your intuition come from fear, lack of trust and are related to negative emotions.

If you are reading this, I can safely assume that you are minimally open to spiritual growth if not already on a spiritual path. But even if you are not, don’t worry. You do not have to be highly spiritual to follow your intuition.

Everyone has an intuition and everyone can learn how to get in touch with it and follow it. It is a practice, but you can learn how to tune into it and develop it.

Following your intuition can help you to create the life you want, your version of happiness, health, freedom and abundance. It can help you heal from physical ailments and emotional pain. It can guide you to find your passion and to live on purpose.

Overall, developing your intuition is non-negotiable when it comes to living your life as your true self in happiness and health.

Here Are 5 Tips To Develop Your Intuition

1. Take Care Of Your Body

Your body is your home. If it is tired and sick, your body will be too busy trying to stay alive and won’t have time to focus on anything else. It will be difficult to assess your soul and therefore, your intuition.

Avoid processed food, chemicals, refined sugar, alcohol and tobacco. Aim to eat an organic, mostly plant-based diet that can give you plenty of energy and nourishment. Take care of your gut health with probiotic foods and supplements. Get plenty of sleep and reduce stress as much as possible.

2. Meditate

Meditation will not only teach you how to relax, but will also help you to clear your mind and be present. You will become more and more receptive to energies around and within you. Listen to you thoughts and feelings and recognize them as messages while meditating. Do not over-analyze them, but instead, accept them. Set an intention before meditation and ask yourself, “My heart, what do you desire?”

3. Exercise And Engage In Body Work

Exercise is a beautiful way to get into the flow, to clear your mind and to allow messages from your intuition to come to you. Running, biking and similar aerobic exercise can create a natural blood flow throughout your body, encouraging energy flow.

Yoga will allow you to center yourself and be in-tune with your body. Walking outdoors will not only move your body, but also bring your closer to nature. Dancing, especially practicing dance meditation, will allow your soul to shine.

No matter what you do, as long as you enjoy it, you will create a beautiful flow, allowing you to be more receptive to your intuition the messages it sends you.

4. Be In Nature

Connecting with nature is by far the best way to create and to feel the beautiful connection with the universe. You will also be able to get in touch with your true self. Just laying in the grass can be magical. Earthing and tree hugging are powerful practices for encouraging energy flow. Exercising outdoors, hiking and gardening are all activities that can help you to be closer to nature and ultimately to yourself and your intuition.

5. Journaling

Journaling is a beautiful practice that allows messages from your soul to shine. Free writing is when you write without thinking and without caring about grammar or punctuation. You can start free writing without any topic on your mind, or you can begin with a question or topic that has been on your mind.

Start writing and keep writing for 15 minutes minimum, or if you can, even longer. You will notice that you will uncover parts of your mind and soul that are otherwise not on the surface and you will notice your intuition shining through.

6. Ask And Receive

Ask the Universe for guidance. Set an intention. Don’t be afraid, no questions or intentions are wrong. Once you ask your questions and set your intentions, be willing and open to receive. Trust that the answers will come to you.

Listen to your body. What is it trying to tell you? Are you experiencing any pain, tension, or discomfort, or rather the opposite of relaxation, pleasure and tingling? Listen to your emotions. Are you experiencing positive or negative emotions?

Pay attention to synchronicities, coincidences and repeating patterns in your life. Pay attention to feelings, ideas and messages that keep coming back to you. Recognize if you feel a strong pull to do something or a strong push to stay away from something – chances are, they are intuitive messages.

Don’t over-analyze things. Trust the process and trust yourself. Be patient and remember that this is a process with a learning curve.
